As a club we have been focused on helping our community, no wonder our signature Project is Helping the Homeless and less fortunate in Adelaide. As a Club we are best known for our Service Project The Cold Plunge which takes place in August every year. All funds raised are donated to Charities that work with the Homeless in Adelaide.
The three other areas the club work in are, Youth Leadership & Development, International Causes and The Environment.
So, why Volunteer ?
Well the obvious one would be to be part of some form of community service. Many people today love the idea of helping out in their community, be it local or international.
Personal Growth & Skills Development
Not as obvious as the first reason, but through activities, responsibilities and opportunity, Rotary promotes growth in social skills, public speaking, leadership and motivation.
Yes, Rotarians love socialising and that is a good thing. All work and no play make’s things rather dull. In a sense Socialising is also a community service. It is one of the threads that keep our society together today.
For those of you who are still active in a business or your career, what better place to network with like-minded people. You never know who you could meet at a Rotary meeting or activity.
Being part of a Team
Well, having read the above don’t you want to be part of this Team. Most people love being part of something, especially if they can identify with the people, the causes and the objectives.
So are you a person who…
who is committed to giving back to the Adelaide community, if so, you are invited to be our guest at Holdfast Bay Hotel where we meet weekly, join us for a chat and a light dinner. See what our Rotary Club is all about and if you are interested, we will invite you to join us at one of our local projects so that you can get a feel for being involved in a worthwhile community project.
